Mark E. Steinberg, who has been Tiger Woods’ agent since 1998, was arrested Saturday night and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, for having a blood-alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit, police said.
Steinberg, 44, of Irvington was charged at 10:43 p.m., after being arrested at a police checkpoint at Saw Mill River Road near Interstate 87, said Sgt. David Fisher of the Ardsley police.
Steinberg was held for about two hours at police headquarters before having his car impounded and being released without bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon.
Steinberg, who could not be reached for comment Sunday, was charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated, indicating that he had a blood-alcohol content of more than 0.18 percent.
