Police: Driver in fatal crash charged with DUII, manslaughter.

Shaun Lowry, the man who police say struck and killed a woman walking along Lookingglass Street has been arrested.

Police took Lowry into custody at 6:00 pm. Thursday.

Lowry was arrested at 1444 NW Garden Valley Blvd., which is the address of his shop called Shaun’s Precision Lube & Tune.

According to the Douglas County Jail Web site, Lowry is being charged by police with first degree manslaughter, DUII and second degree assault, among other charges.

Police say the crash happened around 10:45 p.m. on August 13, as Lowry, 32, of Roseburg drove southbound on Lookingglass Road.

The car hit two pedestrians who were walking southbound on the road.

One of the pedestrians, Amanda S. Bell, 24, of Myrtle Creek died from her injuries at Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg.
