A 53-year-old city man was charged with drunk driving and leaving the scene of an accident that killed a 16-year-old girl Friday night.
The girl, Keyiarra Price, was found unconscious about 9:30 p.m. near 199 Valentine Lane by police who witnesses called after they saw a red SUV driving away.
The teenager had been walking on Valentine Lane near South Broadway when she was hit, police said.
The girl was rushed to Jacobi Hospital Center where she was pronounced dead.
Police meanwhile got a description of the vehicle that left the accident scene and traced it to the owner.
The owner, Patrick Waverly, of 2 Hudson St., was charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident.
