Utica, MI: Man Driving Motorized Wheelchair While Drunk Faces 7th OWI | Shelby-Utica, MI Patch

A 55-year-old Sterling Heights man who was arrested in Utica for allegedly driving a stolen motorized wheelchair down Greeley Street while drunk last week faces charges for his seventh operating under the influence.

A warrant has been issued for the man, whose name is not being released, because he has not been formally charged.

Police said the man was arrested on May 27. The incident began when Utica police were called to an assault on Greeley Street and stopped two men in a vehicle.

The details of the alleged altercation are not clear but police said the 55-year-old man, who was “highly intoxicated” stole one of the men’s  motorized wheelchair. When police arrived to question the 55-year-old, they found him driving it down the road.
