Columbia Police have charged a man with felony DUI for a deadly crash in Five Points Saturday morning that killed a pedestrian.
24-year-old William Carlen is held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center charged with felony DUI, driving under suspension and failure to surrender a suspended drivers license.
Police say Carlen was driving south on Harden Street at about 4 a.m. Saturday when a pedestrian was hit and killed in the crosswalk at the intersection of Harden and Greene Streets.
The Richland County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the victim’s name.
Investigators are reviewing surveillance video from area cameras to gather more clues.
