A DUI driver rescued the victim he had just injured in a crash Saturday, according to CHP officials.

A man was broken down in a red pickup on the shoulder of the southbound 805 at 52, waiting for his son to arrive to assist him. While he was waiting, a drunk driver in a new model white BMW, traveling at full speed.

UPDATE: The suspected drunk driver is Kelly Magrath, 40, of San Marcos.  The victim is Felipe Silva, 56, of Chula Vista.  Magrath is reportedly in custody as of the evening of April 14, 2012 per an online article by the San Diego Union-Tribune.
