A man was killed Saturday morning when his car was T-boned by a Hummer that ran a red light, but the 2-year-old riding with him survived unharmed, Metro Police said.

The collision happened shortly after 7 a.m. at Wynn and Spring Mountain roads.

The man driving the car, a 1997 Ford Escort, was pronounced dead at the scene. The child was taken to University Medical Center as a precaution.

Shauna Miller, the 26-year-old driver of the Hummer, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and was later arrested on DUI charges.

Las Vegas: Suspected drunk driver hits four on sidewalk; two critical | lvrj.com

A motorist believed to be driving while intoxicated lost control of his vehicle early Saturday morning, striking four men on a sidewalk in the central Las Vegas Valley, police said.

Two men remained in critical condition and one in serious condition on Saturday afternoon, Las Vegas police said. The other suffered minor injuries.

Uziel Reyes-Perez, 35, was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and transported to the Clark County Detention Center.

According to police reports, Reyes-Perez was driving a 1999 Toyota Corolla north at 11:46 a.m. on Veterans Memorial Drive just south of Sycamore Lane when witnesses said he lost control of the car and slammed into the four men who had been walking on a sidewalk.

Injured were Anthony Coca, 58 and Gary Taylor, 53, both of whom remained in critical condition; Brian Kopperman, 48, whose condition was listed as serious, and Martin Lomas, 55, who suffered minor injuries.

Police arrested a man suspected of driving under the influence after a crash in western Las Vegas that killed a passenger in his car early Wednesday morning.

According to Las Vegas police, Ralph Homer Corpuz, 21, was driving a Ford Mustang west on Alta Drive near Pavilion Center Drive at about 3:20 a.m. when he lost control of the car, struck a tree while crossing the center median and continued into the eastbound lane.

Corpuz and the passenger, 19-year-old Leo Bernard Roybal, were taken to University Medical Center where the passenger was pronounced dead. Corpuz sustained minor injuries. He is currently in Clark County jail on suggested charges of driving under the influence that caused a death.

Dayton, OH: Alcohol suspected a factor in at least 4 area crashes involving motorcycles this weekend – 2 fatal | www.whiotv.com

Drunk driving is suspected to have played a role in at least four out of five area traffic crashes involving motorcycles this weekend. Two of those crashes resulted in fatalities.

A 25-year-old man from Carlisle was killed Saturday night when he drove his motorcycle off the right side of Greenbush Road in Preble County and hit a utility pole.

The crash occurred at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday just east of Gratis-Jacksonburg Road.

Ohio State Highway Patrol Sgt. David Robison  said Derrick Hamilton was wearing sunglasses while riding in the dark and was believed to be intoxicated at the time of the crash. He was not wearing a helmet and an initial coroner’s report indicates that his spinal cord was severed in the crash.
