Utah Highway Patrol troopers say alcohol may have been a factor in a fatal head-on collision near Moab over the weekend.
According to the UHP, the crash happened at approximately 8:30 p.m. Saturday on State Road 191 at Mile Marker 110, 15 miles South of Moab.
Troopers say a 32-year-old man from Arizona was driving south in a green Ford Taurus at a high rate of speed and very reckless when he crossed over into the northbound lane and struck a Ford Escape head-on.
The UHP says 57-year-old Filemon Montoya af Sweetwater, Texas was driving the Escape and was killed on impact despite wearing a seat belt.
