Mr. Jonathan Elijah Watson, 46, was charged with vehicular homicide, DUI and no seat belt, according to Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

The wreck happened around 1:30 a.m. on Ga. 42 near Blount Road, the sheriff’s spokeswoman Mrs. Allison Selman-Willis said.

Mr. Watson was driving a 1999 Chevy Silverado on the highway when he left the roadway and overcorrected, Mrs. Selman-Willis said.

“The truck overturned partially ejecting Michael Wayne Lindler, 56, out of the passenger side window,” Mrs. Selman-Willis said. “Watson sustained some injuries and was transported to the Medical Center of Central Georgia for treatment.”

Mr. Lindler died on the scene. Neither man was wearing a seat belt, the spokeswoman said.

Lawrence R. Brown, III

A 26-year-old man was charged with two counts of felony DUI following the death of a Simpsonville man on Lee Vaughn Road, a trooper said.

Lawrence R. Brown, III of Scuffletown Road, was charged with the two felonies following a two-car accident resulting in a man’s death and injury to his daughter, said Lance Cpl. Bill Rhyne, a Highway Patrol spokesman.

He is charged with felony DUI involving death, and felony DUI involving great bodily injury, according to Rhyne and jail records.

Kevin W. Webster, 38, of 111 Rebecca Lane, died of head injuries in the accident, said Barry Wright, a Greenville County deputy coroner.

30 year-old David Monarez has now been charged with intoxicated manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid after authorities determined alcohol and speed to both be factors the weekend wreck.

Police say 34-year old Timothy Hilleary was headed northbound on Washington street at 41st Saturday when a vehicle driven by Monarez turned left in front of him.

Naiim Betha, 19, of Grand Prairie, was walking on a bridge over Kirby Creek when he was hit by a pickup, police said. Betha was hit and thrown over the bridge and fell about 19 feet into the creek bed where he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police arrested George T. Roarx, 31, of Grand Prairie, who is facing a charge of driving while intoxicated.

The incident occurred about 9:40 p.m. Sunday in the 3300 block of Corn Valley Road.

Betha was walking northbound on Corn Valley Road when he was hit by a 2002 Dodge pickup that also was northbound, police said. Roarx told police that he did not see the teen-ager.

Police continued to investigate the accident on Monday.

It was the 10th traffic fatality in the city.

Munos – Munos

A sergeant with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office was killed early this morning when his vehicle was hit by a suspected drunk driver in north Houston.

It happened on North Shepherd near West Little York at around 3am. Investigators say Sergeant Dwayne Polk, a 16-year veteran, had just finished a shift and was heading home when the accident happened.

Andres Munos-Munos, 22, was driving a white GMC pick-up ran a red light speeding through the intersection and crashed into the driver’s side door of the deputy’s truck, said Houston Police Department spokesman John Cannon.

“As he pulls into the intersection, he is struck on his driver’s side, T-boned, by a GMC truck that was going at a high rate of speed that ran the red light and struck him full impact,” said an investigator on the scene. “(There were) no skid marks, no attempt to stop at all.”

Polk was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspected drunk driver suffered only minor injuries. He is in police custody and faces charges of intoxication assault.

Stefanie Moore

One woman has died and another was arrested after a hit-and-run pedestrian accident late Friday night in Midland.

Midland police and fire departments responded to the accident at 11:40 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Midkiff Road and Wadley Avenue. A car, driven by 22-year-old Stefanie Moore, of Midland, was traveling south on Midkiff Road when she hit Natalie Hartman, 35, of Midland, who was walking eastbound in the roadway on the south side of the intersection, according to a press release from the city’s public information officer.

Moore fled the scene and Hartman was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital, where she died, according to the release.

Liane Corwin

A father of three was killed trying to fix his car after it broke down during rush hour. It happened on the Loop 202 in Mesa. Officers say a drunk driver swerved into him.

42-year-old A. Jay Cotten, a father of three, was killed trying to fix his car on the side of the 202. He thought it would be a quick fix, but seconds later an SUV swerved into him.

Officers say 46-year-old Liane Corwin was driving drunk. She was arrested on a charge of reckless manslaughter, a class two felony.

DPS says her blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit as she drove down the 202 during rush hour Thursday night.

Tom George Vineyard, 38, faces charges of vehicular homicide while under the influence and negligent vehicular assault resulting in serious bodily injury, both felonies.

Vineyard, whose blood alcohol content was measured at about three times the legal driving limit, is accused of killing Roberta Demmert early this morning, according to charging documents filed by Deputy Missoula County Attorney Jason Marks.

Gabriel Lee Gratto

A Myrtle Beach man was charged with felony driving under the influence in connection with a vehicle crash Wednesday night that killed a woman as she drove along Prestwick Club Drive, according to authorities.

Gabriel Lee Gratto, 28, of Myrtle Beach was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center at 12:13 a.m. Thursday and is being held there pending a bond hearing, according to jail records.

Gratto is charged with felony DUI in connection with the crash that happened about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday on Secondary Highway 394, said Sgt. Bob Beres with the S.C. Highway Patrol.

Joan Errickson, 56, of Myrtle Beach died from multiple traumas she suffered in the crash, Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler said. An autopsy was performed early Thursday.

Mary Cavitch

A 4-year-old boy remained in critical condition Thursday morning after his mother drove into a utility pole in Cordova Wednesday night, allegedly after drinking half a bottle of vodka.

The children’s mother, 26-year-old Mary Cavitch, has been charged with DUI, vehicular assault, reckless driving, public intoxication and marijuana possession. She is being held in the Shelby County Jail.

The 4-year-old boy in the front passenger seat was taken to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in critical condition while a 3-year-old girl in the backseat was taken in non-critical condition. The 4-year-old remained in critical condition Thursday morning, hospital officials said.

Cavitch allegedly told police she drank a half-bottle of vodka. Cops also found 10 grams of pot in her purse.
