The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a Jamestown man involved in a deadly wrong-way crash on Interstate-94 had a blood-alcohol concentration more than three times the legal limit.

Troopers say 28-year-old Wyatt Klein’s blood-alcohol concentration was .25, compared to a legal limit of .08, when he drove the wrong direction on I-94 and crashed into a West Fargo family.

Thirty-four-year-old Aaron Deutscher, his pregnant 36-year-old wife, Allison, and their 18-month-old daughter Brielle were killed as a result of the crash near Crystal Springs on July 6. Klein also died in the crash.

Troopers say Klein had been going east in the westbound lanes and struck the westbound Deutscher family.

Fargo, ND: Man with 14th DUI arrest called ‘a menace to society’ | Park Rapids Enterprise

Bail was set at $15,000 Monday for a West Fargo man accused of what prosecutors say is his 14th DUI offense.

Kevin Tegtmeier, 60, was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Friday on suspicion of DUI in the 100 block of Fairgrounds Road in West Fargo, documents filed Monday in Cass County District Court show.

According to a police report, Tegtmeier didn’t stop after he was signaled by an officer who noticed his vehicle’s license plates were fictitious.

The officer noted in the report that he could smell a strong odor of alcohol and asked Tegtmeier to take a field sobriety test. He had trouble keeping his balance.

A subsequent breath test found Tegtmeier had a blood alcohol content of 0.251 percent, more than three times the legal limit of 0.08 percent.

A North Dakota man is accused of killing two young brothers when he drove over their tent at a campground after losing control of his speeding pickup truck.

Juan Acosta, 30, was charged Monday with manslaughter and drunken driving.

He was also charged with reckless endangerment and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, Bottineau County prosecutor Swain Benson said.

Acosta was arrested after the Sunday crash at the Hahn’s Bay Campground at Lake Metigoshe in Bottineau, near the Canadian border.
