A Cayucos woman is facing DUI charges after police say she hit-and-killed one cyclist and seriously injured another along Highway 1 Monday morning.

It happened in the southbound lane, just south of the Main Street overpass in Morro Bay.

The CHP says 29 year-old Jessica Goddard hit the two cyclists from behind around 11:30 AM.

Goddard was arrested at the scene and is facing charges of felony DUI causing injury and/or death along, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and reckless driving.

Alan Stephens, 65, was pronounced dead at the scene and Bradley Cummins, 60, received major injuries when the driver of a Hyundai sedan allegedly veered right and hit the cyclists around 11:30 a.m. on Labor Day, CHP spokeswoman Laura Browning has confirmed

Cummings was taken to a local hospital with major injuries before being taken to another hospital out of the area.

Stephens, from Los Osos, died at the scene.
