Gabrielle Reuveni
The horrific, heartbreaking news is spreading this afternoon: 20-year-old Gabrielle Reuveni, the valedictorian of Paramus High School’s Class of 2010, a member of a college national championship track and field team and a Miss New Jersey contestant died after being struck by a car Saturday morning.
The father of 20-year-old Gabrielle Reuveni said she was struck and killed Saturday morning by a drunk driver “who lost control of his car at high speed when she was out running.
“We all knew her as an extraordinarily talented, intelligent, caring, and selfless young woman,” Sean Adams, the Paramus district’s supervisor of secondary education, wrote in an email.
The Morris County motorist has a criminal history, including two arrests in one week earlier this month. Philip Cise, 48, was driving south on Route 507 in Palmyra Township, Pa., about 12:30 Saturday afternoon when his Chevy pickup crossed the double-yellow line onto the shoulder several times before hitting Reuveni, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
