Berks Co., PA: State Trooper Arrested for DUI on duty in marked official vehicle | WPMT

A Hamburg state trooper has been suspended without pay after driving under the influence while on duty in Berks County. Kevin D. Wackley, 47, of Tamaqua, was driving a marked state police cruiser when he was arrested around 8 p.m. on Thursday night. Wackley was stopped along Old Route 22 near Reservoir Road in Windsor Township by a Tilden Township police officer. After determining Wackley was intoxicated, he was taken into custody and processed at the Hamburg station, state police said.

Wackely’s blood alcohol level was above the legal limit of 0.08 percent, said state police sgt. Robert Wagner, who is the Hamburg station commander.

Wagner would not reveal Wackley’s specific blood alcohol level.

Wackley has been a with the state police for 19 years.
