Fremont, WA: 20 months in prison for drunk driver who seriously injured four pedestrians in Fremont | Seattle Times

A Seattle man  has been sentenced to 20 months in prison for driving his station wagon into a group of pedestrians in Fremont.

Police and prosecutors said Cary Griffin was drunk when he hit six people who had just left a lounge on Dec. 10. Four of the victims suffered serious injuries.

Court documents said Griffin drove half a block before stopping and walking back to the scene. His blood-alcohol level was nearly 0.19, more than double the legal intoxication threshold of 0.08.

Griffin, 24, pleaded guilty in May to three counts of vehicular assault and one count of reckless endangerment. Prosecutors recommended a 20-month sentence during Griffin’s sentencing hearing  on Friday.
