A 32-year-old motorist was killed today when an allegedly drunken driver in a stolen car ran a red light and smashed into his vehicle in the Jefferson Park section of Los Angeles, police said.
The motorist killed was later identified as Tyree Deon Kelker, said Coroner’s Investigator Dana Bee.
The drunken driver, speeding eastbound on Adams Boulevard in a black Nissan Altima about 2:35 a.m. failed to stop for a red traffic light at Crenshaw Boulevard and struck a silver Honda Civic going south on Crenshaw Boulevard, according to a department statement.
Kelker was ejected from his Honda Civic and died at the scene. Paramedics rushed the drunken motorist to an area hospital with severe head trauma.
South Traffic Division detectives asked anyone who saw the collision to call them at 323-421-2500
